Grand old hotel Art Deco in style. Wonderful garden and pool. Our Superior room was absolutely fine. We had dinner at the hotel which for the money was very good. Great outdoor restaurant bit. Lots of reviews are critical but our experience was excellent.

Amazing location, easy to walk the 10 mins in to Kandy around the lake, great path, shaded and lots of wildlife to look at along the way.
Wonderful colonial hotel that is steeped in history. We stayed during Poya, a religious featival,the hotel is used by Srilankan families as well as foreign travelers. Loved the feel of the history of the building.
Loved the friendly atmosphere.. specially the the reception the guy in the dark blue blazer.. couldn't get his name.. he was so accommodative and and helpful..

convenient location
We spent one night here. It was a Saturday. Our room had windows to the yard where a group was having a party with loud music. They finished at around 10pm. This hotel is an old building. Some parts are a little bit tired. The breakfast was nice.
